IT Employability Tutor (Online)

Job Title:
IT Employability Tutor (Online)

Responsible to:
Quality Manager

Purpose of Job:
To plan prepare and deliver engaging and innovative online teaching and learning sessions within the curriculum aimed at adult learners. The goal is to meet the individual needs of learners and help them progress into further training or employment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver highquality and creative online teaching and learning sessions that engage inspire and motivate learners to address their individual learning needs and encourage them to aim higher.
  • Use initial assessments and evaluated work to consider the specific needs of each learner.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to ensure online safety for learners helping them understand potential risks and how to protect themselves and others.
  • Provide effective Careers Information Education Advice and Guidance (CIEAG) using the information obtained during enrolment and induction to tailor learners programmes to their specific needs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and provide constructive developmental feedback through comprehensive marking of learners work along with structured verbal and written feedback on how they can improve.
  • Consistently deliver highstandard teaching and learning to ensure a quality learner experience leading to excellent achievement and progression rates in an online environment.
  • Facilitate the development of broader workrelated skills by delivering supportive job search sessions and integrating workrelated skills into learning activities.
  • Enhance learners digital skills building their confidence in using ICT for daily tasks and future progression.
  • Complete all relevant documentation and records related to learners training progress and achievements accurately and in a timely manner including:
    • Learner Reviews
    • Start of Learning Forms
    • Attendance Records
    • Action Plans/Feedback
    • Other contractual paperwork
  • Integrate safeguarding practices British values awareness of Prevent equality and diversity and health and safety into the learning programme.
  • Build learners confidence resilience and awareness to help them maintain mental wellbeing.
  • Ensure that sectorspecific knowledge remains current and up to date.
  • Travel across various national delivery sites with a base at Head Office in South Yorkshire.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong ICT skills.
  • Proficient in online delivery platforms and tools with a focus on selfdevelopment to maintain uptodate knowledge and best practices in online teaching methods.
  • Minimum of one year s experience in online tutoring.
  • Experience working with unemployed adults in an educational setting.
  • Experience with rollon/rolloff delivery.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging innovative and motivational sessions that focus on individual learner needs.
  • Understanding of initial assessment processes and how to use the information to guide teaching learning and assessment.
  • Knowledge of different learning styles and the ability to differentiate using a variety of teaching methods.
  • Ability to selfmotivate and inspire learners.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Ability to use initiative and be adaptable in approach.
  • Effective teamwork skills.
  • Full driving licence with national travel required.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE/Cert ED or equivalent.
  • L3 Assessor Award or equivalent.
  • GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or FS Level 2.
  • IAG Level 2 or willingness to work towards obtaining it.

All candidates must have access to their own vehicle with business insurance. Travel will be required with travel expenses paid fortnightly.

  • Tutoring: 1 year (preferred)
  • Teaching: 1 year (required)

Work Location:
South Yorkshire with regular travel required.
