Linux Engineer

Position Summary:

The Linux Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the companys Linuxbased systems ensuring optimal performance security and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of Linux operating systems scripting and automation. The ideal candidate will have strong problemsolving skills experience in systems administration and a passion for continuous improvement in a fastpaced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Linux servers and systems ensuring their performance availability and security.
• Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and provide solutions to maintain system integrity.
• Develop and implement scripts for automation of routine tasks configuration management and deployment processes.
• Perform system upgrades patch management and regular maintenance to keep systems uptodate and secure.
• Configure and manage network services such as DNS DHCP NFS and Samba.
• Collaborate with the DevOps and development teams to ensure seamless integration of software and infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain backup recovery and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor and enforce security best practices including firewall management access controls and vulnerability assessments.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients as needed.
• Document system configurations processes and procedures for reference and training purposes.
• Stay current with industry trends technologies and best practices related to Linux systems and opensource software.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of experience in Linux systems administration engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Linux operating systems Red Hat CentOS Ubuntu.
• Strong scripting skills using Bash Python or Perl.
• Experience with configuration management tools Ansible Puppet Chef.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies VMware KVM Docker.
• Familiarity with network protocols and services including TCP/IP DNS and HTTP/HTTPS.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS Azure Google Cloud is a plus.
• Strong understanding of security best practices and tools SELinux iptables firewalld.
• Excellent problemsolving troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
