Job Description

Our Client CenDek Railings is an innovative railing manufacturer located in beautiful Summerland British Columbia. Over the past 20 years of doing business they have come to represent an aluminum railing product that is associated with style safety and durability. Their recent move into a new facility has prompted new growth as they have made exciting new changes to their manufacturing process. New equipment modern powder coating techniques and team members that are excited to embrace progress have increased their capacity to provide customers with a timely and highly sought after product. CenDek is committed to providing the highest level of personal service and quality products available. Regardless of the project size they detail each job individually to ensure that the railing is exactly what the customer envisioned for their project.

As the Century Line Business Development Representative you are responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with customers on behalf of the company for actively prospecting new accounts and maximizing sales potential with existing customers. As a primary external representative of CenDek your ability to educate clients and distributors of our product services and capabilities will be a key component to your success. As you travel through your territory including eastern Ontario; Quebec; P.E.I.; New Brunswick; Nova Scotia and Newfoundland you will identify prospects customers and referral sources and develop and maintain relationships to ensure attainment of company business goals.

Additional Responsibilities Include:
  • Promote the Century line directly to dealers and contractors through their distribution partner while working with distributors to create and expand a network of new dealers and customers;
  • Interpret and read blueprints perform takeoffs for accurate project estimations;
  • Manage marketing data using sales management systems or tools (e.g. database computerized call calendars and time management systems) to maximize efficiency and analyze data/marketing activity on a biweekly basis;
    Identify new dealer targets and referral sources and develop/maintain relationships to ensure attainment of company business goals and actively manage shortandlong term leads from external referral sources to qualify prospects and advance them through the sales process;
  • Effectively present and discuss the products and services of the company soliciting only those desired products/services provided by the company and its vendors to current and prospective customers in a way that conveys an image of quality integrity and superior understanding and delivery of customer needs;
  • Perform market assessments competitor analysis and pricing strategies. Draw conclusions from market assessment data on the competitive environment and the company s strengths weaknesses opportunities and targets and provide advice to the Sales Manager;
  • Develop annual marketing strategy in conjunction with the Sales Manager General Manager and Inside Service Team and identify joint marketing opportunities where applicable;
  • Assist in the development and promotions of contract processes;
  • Conduct onsite presentations seminars and education PK s that promote the use of our product;
  • Develop a strategic sales plan that identifies and prioritizes new dealer targets;
  • Develop a call schedule to cover territory adequately and provide reports and data on results;
  • Investigate and work to resolve customer s problems. Communicate with the head office on any product issues that might arise in the field and work closely with the service team to resolve those issues;
  • Support field work training programs and closing assistance for client representatives and management;
    Work directly with contractors / installers to create pull through the dealer network;
  • Report frequently as required to the sales manager;
  • Participate in annual onsite product update training and service team meetings and prepare detailed reports and maintain a detailed and accurate expense account;
  • Drive growth in Eastern Canada regions by supporting our distribution partner in creating new dealer accounts while maintaining existing agreements and dealers;
  • Create a strong Century presence at regional home shows and special events and collaborate on vendor joint travel days with distributor account managers;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.


Requirements

  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator s license and a current passport with the ability to obtain a US visa if required;
  • Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset;
  • Ability to work in a variable work environment both indoors and outdoors with varying environmental conditions;
  • Experience in the building industry is highly desirable;
  • Proficient with CRM and ERP programs including Acumatica as well as MS Office Programs (Outlook Excel);
  • Ability to travel via motor vehicle and air for a significant amount of your work week (approximately 50% from September to May). From May to September (as the market dictates) your field time will be reduced and your work week will primarily be from your home office (remotely);
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.;
  • The successful candidate will be comfortable in the environment of customer facilities.

This is a fulltime position requiring a significant amount of travel. The salary range for this position is $65000 $75000 per annum depending on experience.
