Position summary
The Chris Marine lab at the VIB Center for Cancer Biology () is actively seeking a skilled bioinformatician proficient in analyzing and integrating singlecell and spatial multiomics datasets. The primary focus of this role is to delve deeper into the molecular mechanisms driving intratumor heterogeneity plasticity and therapy resistance.
Applicants should demonstrate expertise in programming languages such as Python and/or R as well as experience working with highperformance computing clusters. The successful candidate will be a team player collaborating closely with other bioinformaticians as well as cancer cell and molecular biologists clinicians and pathologists.
Profile
Essential Requirements
- PhD in Bioinformatics Computational Biology Statistics Computer Science Genetics or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R with a solid grasp of statistics.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a flexible mindset for acquiring new skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with highperformance computing clusters and analysis of transcriptomics and genomics datasets.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in singlecell and spatial OMICS data analysis.
- Development of ShinyApps and experience with largescale dataset management.
- Knowledge of cancer biology.
