Job Description
Our client is looking for a dedicated openminded easygoing friendly personal care assistant to join his team. The role is for 20hrs a week: 10am to 8pm on a Wednesday and Saturday to work in the Portslade Brighton area.
Our client lives independently in his own home with his partner. He is young at heart and loves music and is a DJ so it is vital that you have a passion for music too.
Our client wants to be more active than he already is. He enjoys going to the park and the beach and is looking for support to be able to go to more events so you will need to be sociable fit and healthy to get him around. Our client is wheelchair bound but it doesnt stop him from living the best life he can. You will most definitely need a good sense of humour he can be quite sarcastic at times so you need to not easily take offense. He invites you to come and have a laugh with them!
As a member of our clients caring team you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that can vary by the day so an amount of flexibility is required. Some of the main duties include:
- Administration of medication
- Moving and handling
- Assisting our client in the community
- Administrative duties
- Cooking and cleaning
- Assisting our client to get to and from appointments
- To ensure his holistic wellbeing is supported at all times as needed

Training provided to CQC standards which are specific to this client:
- Induction Training
Safeguarding Adults
Health and Safety
First Aid
Food Hygiene
Administration of Medication
Moving and Handling with Hoist Transfer
Mental Health Support Needs
Infection Control
Head Injury
Epilepsy
Training is paid at NMW.
Essential Requirements Identified for this Role:
- An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by HomeCareDirect)
- Our client has a cat therefore you should not have a cat allergy
- Our client is a smoker so you should be happy to work in a smoking environment
- You will need to have a full UK driving licence as you will need to drive as part of this role
- Prepared to commit to long term care for one client in a personcentred way
- Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the clients needs
- Respect Company policies and procedures
- Be reliable / nonjudgemental / caring / responsible / compassionate
- Committed to confidentiality and to treat the client with dignity and respect
