Tax Manager

Location: Wilmington NC

Work setup: Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Responsibilities:

• Prepare tax returns for individuals corporations and partnerships
• Collect documents from clients
• Identify and solve tax issues
• Offer innovative tax planning and review complex returns
• Supervise the tax team to ensure accurate returns
• Stay updated on tax law changes and develop strategies accordingly
• Prepare and review tax memoranda
• Resolve notices with tax authorities
• Maintain control over the tax process
• Train and mentor staff

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting (Masters preferred)
• 5 to 8 years in public accounting
• Experience with individual closely held business and passthrough entity tax returns
• Strong project management analytical and communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Proficient in accounting and research with a focus on professional growth
• Effective at communicating with partners managers and clients
• Willing to work with a team and manage administrative tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA license or candidate status
• Proficient in QuickBooks
• Experienced with highnetworth individuals and multistate tax returns
• Experienced in preparing tax returns for exempt organizations
