About the job
Born from an engineering and construction firm KPI Engineering offers mechanical electrical plumbing
and fire protection design services locally (throughout the State of Florida) and nationally. KPI
professionals are experts in the built environment working for public and private clients on a wide range
of projects from retail tenant fit outs to office spaces medical offices hospital spaces multifamily
hospitality municipal buildings and large sports complexes. KPI also performs evaluations and studies for
clients as they seek to acquire properties or renovate existing.
As the professional engineer you will have oversight of projects within your specific area of expertise.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate best/most appropriate design solution through application of industry knowledge while
considering Client and Project specific parameters
First Cost where initial investment is most important
Operational Costs where Client will maintain and operate the project
Life Costs consideration for both first and operational costs
Lead project provide design direction or support projects as assigned or needed
Provide technical assistance for multiple projects during complete design and implementation life
cycle
Design (schematic design development construction document and issue for construction)
Bid process support
Permitting
Construction Administration Support
Review designs and formulate or incorporate team identified value engineering options
Prepare necessary drawings specifications and system models using application of theory and
practical knowledge of construction best practices
Technical oversight of work done for assigned projects within professional area of expertise
Communicate with team members Clients other consultants project professionals
authorities having jurisdictions and others as necessary to complete project and promote the
interests of the Client.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering
Professional Engineering License in Florida or State with Reciprocity
Knowledge and experience with:
Mechanical/plumbing electrical or fire protection equipment and installation
Mechanical/plumbing electrical or fire protection design principles and process
ASHRAE National Electrical Code International Building Code International Energy Conservation
Code and Life Safety Codes LEED EarthCraft others
Computer Aided Design and Drafting
