Job Title: Occupational Therapist Location: Mishawaka IN Position Overview: The School in Mishawaka IN is seeking a qualified and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The Occupational Therapist will work with students to enhance their ability to participate in everyday activities and achieve academic success. This role involves evaluating students needs developing individualized therapy plans and collaborating with educators and parents to support students overall wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: -
Assessment and Evaluation: - Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students occupational therapy needs.
- Evaluate students’ fine motor skills sensory processing and ability to perform daily activities.
- Interpret assessment results and determine eligibility for occupational therapy services.

Therapeutic Intervention: - Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address students unique needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students both individually and in groups focusing on improving motor skills sensory integration and functional independence.
- Utilize evidencebased practices to promote students academic and social participation.

Collaboration and Consultation: - Work closely with teachers special education staff and parents to integrate occupational therapy goals into the classroom and home environments.
- Provide training and resources to school staff on strategies to support students’ occupational therapy needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings including IEP meetings to contribute to the development of students educational plans.

Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate and uptodate records of all assessments therapy sessions and student progress.
- Prepare and present reports for IEP meetings parent conferences and other required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding occupational therapy services.

Professional Development: - Stay informed about current research trends and best practices in occupational therapy and special education.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Participate in school and district professional learning opportunities.
Qualifications: - Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid Indiana Occupational Therapist license.
- Experience working with schoolaged children particularly those with special needs.
- Knowledge of the IEP process and special education laws.
- Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students families and school staff.
