Job Description

Job Title: GIS Systems Architect
Location: Onsite Fairfax Virginia 22035
Client: Fairfax County
Contract Duration: 05 Years


Job Summary:

  • Client is seeking an experienced GIS Systems Architect to design implement maintain and support our enterprise GIS systems and applications.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the ArcGIS Enterprise stack including ArcGIS Portal ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online.
  • Candidates will be responsible for determining requirements for new GIS systems performing performance tuning troubleshooting and diagnostic operations.
  • Additionally your expertise in enterprise GIS databases desktop GIS applications webbased GIS platforms and experience in customizing and extending base software will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design & Implementation: Design and implement GIS solutions based on business requirements leveraging the full ArcGIS stack including ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Online and associated applications.
  • Administration & Support: Administer and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise Portal ArcGIS Server (including Image Server Business Analyst Enterprise) and other GIS systems. Provide support and resolve issues related to these systems.
  • Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting: Perform performance tuning of GIS systems troubleshoot issues and conduct diagnostic operations to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Requirements Analysis: Work with stakeholders to determine requirements for new GIS systems and applications ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technical standards.
  • Customization & Extension: Customize and extend GIS software including ArcGIS Pro extensions custom controls and webbased applications. Develop solutions to meet specific business needs.
  • Database Management: Manage and optimize enterprise GIS databases ensuring data integrity security and performance.
  • Documentation & Training: Create and maintain documentation for GIS systems and applications. Provide training and support to endusers as needed.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage GIS projects ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in GIS Computer Science Geography or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in GIS systems architecture with a strong focus on ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in administering ArcGIS Enterprise Portal ArcGIS Server (including Image Server Business Analyst Enterprise).
    • Experience with ArcGIS Online and other webbased GIS platforms (e.g. VertiGIS Studio).
    • Expertise in enterprise GIS databases and desktop GIS applications.
    • Knowledge of customizing and extending GIS software including ArcGIS Pro extensions and custom controls.
    • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other GIS platforms and technologies.
  • Certifications related to GIS (e.g. GISP Esri Technical Certification).

itle: Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer Location: Fairfax, Virginia 22035 Duration: 5 years Job Description Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required. At least five (5) years of experience with IT systems and technology in a telecom environment which includes both Legacy switching and the Next Generation technologies. Knowledge and experience with configuration and maintenance of: gateways, routers, switches, firewall, DNS, DHCP, network servers, multiplexers, calling card platforms, TDM, Dialogic, VoIP systems (SIP, H.323 protocols, dial peers, and VoIP carrier trunking). Sample Duties: Provides support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, voice and video) requirements, designs and orders. Also, provides in depth engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives for government public safety agencies in support of strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large scale telecommunication infrastructures. Designs supporting cable/wiring infrastructure for construction projects that includes voice, data, video and wireless Supervises projects and staff and other personnel. Provide overall program management services including making presentations to national, state and local officials.
