Job Description

Our client produces parts for automotive exhaust safety restraint systems and vibrationdampening technologies. It is the largest vertically integrated wire mesh manufacturer and as a result our client is a global supplier of airbag inflator filters. In addition it is a leading supplier to the food and household industries with cleaning products including hand pads metal scrubbers sponges floor pads mops and accessories.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and resultsdriven Operations Manager to oversee and manage our production and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes with a proven track record in P&L management people management and continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production & Manufacturing Management:
    • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure that production targets quality standards and delivery schedules are met.
    • Develop and implement production plans schedules and workflows to optimize manufacturing efficiency and minimize downtime.
    • Monitor production KPIs and make datadriven decisions to improve overall operational performance.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards regulations and company policies.
  2. P&L Management:
    • Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the production department ensuring cost control budget adherence and financial performance.
    • Analyze financial data to identify areas for cost reduction process improvements and revenue enhancement.
    • Work closely with the finance team to develop and manage budgets forecasts and financial reports.
  3. People Management:
    • Lead coach and develop a highperforming production team fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous learning.
    • Implement and manage training programs to ensure that employees are skilled and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
    • Conduct performance evaluations provide constructive feedback and implement development plans to enhance team capabilities.
    • Promote a safe and healthy work environment ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  4. Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen to enhance operational efficiency quality and costeffectiveness.
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization waste reduction and productivity improvement.
    • Lead crossfunctional teams in the implementation of improvement projects ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  5. Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Quality Supply Chain Maintenance) to ensure seamless operations and alignment with business objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with senior management providing regular updates on operational performance challenges and opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers vendors and external partners to ensure the smooth flow of materials and services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Operations Management Engineering Business Administration or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 57 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in P&L management with a strong understanding of financial principles and business acumen.
  • Demonstrated expertise in people management with the ability to lead motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma etc.) and a track record of successful implementation.
  • Excellent problemsolving decisionmaking and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems and other relevant software tools.
