The Property

Are you an experienced luxury hotel General Manager with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay is seeking a highly motivated and talented Hotel General Manager to lead our team and ensure the seamless operation and success of our property.

Ideally located in the heart of Dohas diplomatic area The Waldorf Astoria West Bay epitomizes modern luxury offering elegant furnishings a range of culinary options and seamless personalized service. The 44storey property features 283 rooms and suites as well as 50 luxury apartments all of which boast a distinct art deco style. Paying homage to the history of grand clocks at Waldorf Astoria properties around the world the central feature of the lobby is a striking clock created by Tiffany & Co. A piece of art the clock celebrates the falcon Qatars national bird.

In line with Waldorf Astorias legacy of food and beverage excellence Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay offers a variety of venues ranging from a gourmet food hall experience to various fine dining venues and the brands signature Peacock Alley along with the world class dining destinations of Muro from Chef Mauro Colagreco and Yumi.

Guests can enjoy the chilled marbletiled separate male and female pools along with The Waldorf Astoria Spa offering a range of worldclass wellness treatments. The hotel features elegant event facilities that provide the ideal setting for every type of occasion.

With a faade and main entrance almost identical to the original Waldorf Astoria in New York the hotel nods to the brands rich heritage and legacy bringing Manhattan flair to Qatars capital.

The Role

This exciting General Manager position will be responsible for managing and building upon the current success of the hotel Hotel Management team hotel targets to deliver an excellent Guest and Team Member experience while managing profitability and meeting our Owners expectations.

What will you be doing

Specifically you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage and lead the hotel operation.
  • As the second Waldorf Astoria in country you and your team will continue to build the reputation and activation of Hilton.
  • Manage ongoing profitability of the hotel ensuring revenue guest satisfaction and Team Member engagement goals are met and exceeded.
  • Lead in all key property issues including capital projects customer service and refurbishment.
  • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotel and Hilton.
  • Deliver achievable hotel budgets and set other short and long term strategic goals for the property.
  • Provide exceptional leadership to hotel Team Members focusing on Hilton culture and values.
  • Lead in all aspects of business planning.
  • Comply with and exceed Hilton Brand Service Standards.
  • Ensure costs are controlled.
  • Manage and develop the Hotel Executive team to ensure career progression and effective succession planning within Hilton.
  • Hold regular briefings and communication meetings with the HOD team.
  • Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.

What are we looking for

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills with a strong focus on Owner relations Operations F&B Commercial Guest experience and Team Member engagement. Enthusiastic and passionate you will have current experience as a true luxury hotel General Manager within a similar quality hotel.

A General Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role you should maintain the attitude behaviours skills and values that follow:

  • An Established luxury General Manager with Hilton experience ideally.
  • Deep understanding of GCC Tier 1 market and multi market experience
  • Deliver innovative commercial opportunities with experience in increasing profitability in particular F&B
  • Meticulous attention will be crucial
  • Strong ability to collaborate and foster networks and relationships with owners contractors corporates and local community must be highly visible.
  • Capability to assume responsibility and confidently lead hotel owners
  • Strong operational knowledge from a people/leadership perspective the GM needs to be present and lead from the front
  • Deliver innovative commercial opportunities with experience in increasing profitability
  • Exceptional people leadership and retention of talent with the ability to bring a team together on a journey and instilling the Hilton culture and values
  • Ability to show resilience judgement and leadership
  • Experience managing budgets revenue proposals and forecasting results in a similar sized property
  • Indepth knowledge of the hotel/leisure/service sector
  • Degree or diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent
  • Arabic language preferred
