Job Description

Job Description:

As a General Ledger Accountant you will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling the general ledger ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded. You will work closely with the finance team to prepare financial statements manage monthend and yearend closing processes and support audits. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills excellent attention to detail and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Manage the monthend and yearend closing processes including journal entries account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing financial data and analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve any accounting issues.
  • Continuously improve accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • CPA certification or working towards CPA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role.
  • Previous experience in agriculture construction or manufacture industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
  • Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks SAP Oracle etc. ) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
