Plant Controller

Job Summary:

The Plant Controller is a key member of the plant management team responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the manufacturing plant. This role involves leading financial planning budgeting forecasting and reporting processes to ensure the plants financial health and alignment with corporate objectives. The Plant Controller will provide strategic financial guidance to support operational efficiency cost management and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets quarterly forecasts and financial projections.
  • Analyze financial data identify trends and provide actionable insights to improve plant performance.
  • Collaborate with plant management to develop costsaving initiatives and operational improvements.
• Cost Accounting:
  • Oversee and maintain accurate cost accounting systems to ensure proper allocation of costs.
  • Monitor and analyze variances between actual and standard costs and investigate discrepancies.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize manufacturing costs and enhance profitability.
• Reporting and Compliance:
  • Prepare and present timely and accurate financial reports including P&L statements balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure adherence to financial controls.
• Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and control inventory levels ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.
  • Analyze inventory turnover and work with operations to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
• Capital Management:
  • Evaluate and monitor capital expenditures ensuring alignment with budget and strategic goals.
  • Provide financial analysis for capital investment projects including ROI calculations and risk assessments.
• Team Leadership:
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the teams skills and knowledge.
• Strategic Partnership:
  • Act as a financial advisor to plant leadership providing insights and guidance on financial implications of business decisions.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to drive operational excellence and support longterm growth initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
• CPA or CMA is preferred.
• Minimum of 57 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a plant controller or similar role.
• Proven experience in agriculture or manufacture industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles financial analysis and budgeting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems financial reporting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities with a track record of building effective teams.
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple priorities.
