Senior Cloud Engineer - United Kingdom

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team and lead the design implementation and management of cloud infrastructure that supports our growing business needs.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Cloud Engineer you will be responsible for designing deploying and managing cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms. You will work closely with development operations and security teams to ensure our cloud environments are reliable efficient and secure. Your role will also involve automating cloud processes optimizing performance and mentoring junior engineers in cloud best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design deploy and manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
  
• Develop and implement cloud architecture strategies that ensure scalability reliability and security.
  
• Automate cloud provisioning deployment and management tasks using tools such as Terraform Ansible or CloudFormation.
  
• Monitor cloud performance and optimize resources to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  
• Ensure cloud environments adhere to security best practices including identity and access management encryption and network security.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
  
• Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and ensure seamless integration with cloud services.
  
• Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud architecture configurations and processes.
  
• Stay uptodate with the latest cloud technologies industry trends and best practices.
  
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior cloud engineers fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
  
• 7 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related role with a strong focus on cloud architecture and infrastructure.
  
• Proficiency with one or more major cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and their associated services.
  
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform Ansible or CloudFormation.
  
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices including IAM encryption and network security.
  
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  
• Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver highquality results on time.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with multicloud environments and hybrid cloud solutions.
  
• Familiarity with serverless architectures and functions as a service (FaaS).
  
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  
• Experience with cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
