Devops Engineer

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. In this role you will be responsible for building and maintaining our infrastructure automating processes and ensuring that our systems are secure. The ideal candidate will have experience in both DevOps practices with the ability to implement security best practices across our development and operations environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Management and Automation:
  

• Design implement and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using platforms like AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
  
• Automate infrastructure provisioning deployment and monitoring using tools such as Terraform Ansible or CloudFormation.
  
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient secure and automated software delivery.
  

• Security Engineering:
  

• Integrate security practices into the DevOps processes ensuring that security is embedded in the software development lifecycle.
  
• Implement and manage security controls such as firewalls VPNs intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and encryption.
  
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits addressing any identified risks or weaknesses.
  
  
  

• Monitoring and Incident Response:
  

• Set up monitoring logging and alerting systems to detect and respond to security incidents.
  
• Establish and maintain incident response procedures including regular drills and simulations.
  
• Provide firstline response to security incidents including investigation mitigation and documentation.
  

• Collaboration and Support:
  

  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that applications are deployed securely and efficiently.
    
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on security best practices and emerging threats.
    
  • Document security policies procedures and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
    

• Continuous Improvement:
  

  • Stay updated with the latest trends tools and best practices in both DevOps and cybersecurity.
    
  • Identify opportunities to enhance security posture through new tools technologies or processes.
    
  • Advocate for a securityfirst mindset within the organization promoting a culture of continuous improvement in security practices.
    

Qualifications:

• Education:
  

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
    

• Experience:
  

  • 3 years of experience in a DevOps role.
    
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) and cloudnative security practices.
    
  • Handson experience with security tools and practices including vulnerability scanning threat modelling and incident response.
    
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and their security implications.
    

• Technical Skills:
  

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python Bash or PowerShell.
    
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and security protocols (e.g. SSL/TLS SSH VPNs).
    
  • Experience with IAM (Identity and Access Management) policies and secure access controls.
    

• Soft Skills:
  

  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
    
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex security concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
    
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a fastpaced environment.
    

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer is a plus.
  
• Experience with serverless architecture and microservices.
