This is a fulltime position based in Syracuse NY. 2nd Shift.
What you ll do:
- Perform all required duties to maintain and repair a wide variety of foundry equipment and machinery and grinding equipment in foundry.
- Tear down diagnose replace repair and reassemble foundry machinery such as molding machines shot blast conveyors hoists grinding equipment blowers fans rotocones etc.
- Replace conveyor belts pillow blocks bearings shafts operating components such as gear boxes speed reducers etc.
- Lubricate equipment on prescribed schedule or as necessary check for excessive heat noise or other operational defects during lubrication.
- Adjust stripping pins and squeeze heat height as necessary and perform a variety of similar or associated duties as required or directed.
- Diagnose faults quickly on regular or emergency repairs; tear down repair reassemble and adjust equipment to avoid shutdown.
- Operate fork truck as required in performance of job duties.
Requirements
Qualifications:
3 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience
Machine repair theory and practice involving theory and practice involving close tolerance assembly and fits.
Experience in the use of measuring instruments and devices.
Experience in the sequence and intrarelationship of machines operations including the evaluation of pressure flow and dimensions in all machine functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of industrial maintenance experience or the equivalent to Journeymen level experience.
Forklift experience.

Strong Mechanical and Electrical background. Possesses strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CMMS, etc.). Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and OEM manuals. Understanding of manufacturing processes and manufacturing equipment. Must be familiar with normal shop equipment such as drill press, band saw and portable power tools. Ability to read and interpret precision measuring devices. Successful completion of certification testing.
