What You Will Do

The Director of Category Management & Sales Planning will bring excellent Category leadership insights and analytics support to external and internal stakeholders. You will work across national large and small format retail distribution with a major focus on leading in developing insights identifying opportunities and communicating recommendations to lead and increase company stature with retail partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive sales growth and increase market share
  • Develop and implement factbased selling stories business reviews and any other data/insight needs for all customer and broker partner meetings
  • Analyze market trends and consumer insights to develop product assortment and pricing strategies
  • Optimize merchandising and promotional plans to maximize sales and profitability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors in order to maximize our insights and investments
  • Collaborate with sales marketing and production teams to execute category management and sales planning
  • Monitor and report on category performance to senior management sales and marketing teams
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies

Who You Are

You are a doer and have a strategic perspective taking pride in and ownership of your work you are detailoriented extremely analytical are not afraid to have a voice in the organization and are always pushing to reach higher and accomplish more. You have a strong enthusiasm for translating data into actionable insights that are easily understood by other team members and the ability to craft compelling presentations accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration Marketing or a related field
  • 5 years’ experience in CPG bonus if within chocolate confections candy etc.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in category management
  • Proven track record of driving profitable growth and increasing market share
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data from multiple sources including syndicated data and retail portal platforms
  • Must be extremely proficient with pulling data from SPINS Nielsen IRI/Circana (bonus if you have experience with Numerator Bedrock MODUS)
  • Experience working with Trade Planning forecasting and trade spend software/tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills comfortable speaking with Executive Board and meeting/speaking with customers
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Must be able to thrive in an ambiguous environment work independently be resourceful and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to travel for trade shows sales calls and customer meetings/reviews
  • Experience in a startup environment ideal but not required

• Annual salary range of $125175k plus bonus potential
