Job Description

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Nights 6:00 pm 6:00 am

Location: Paris TX 75460

Salary: $45000 $55000 (depending on experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Paris TX for night shifts. The ideal candidate will provide respiratory care services to patients of all ages including those requiring advanced life support. This role requires a licensed respiratory therapist with a strong commitment to patient care excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic tests as prescribed by physicians including oxygen therapy aerosol medication and mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy making adjustments as needed and report any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Provide emergency respiratory care including airway management and resuscitation as required.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment usage.
  • Perform routine and emergency respiratory therapy procedures in the Neonatal Pediatric Adult and Geriatric units.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records documenting therapy patient progress and any complications.
  • Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures including infection control and safety standards.

MustHaves:

  1. Licensure: Current State of Texas Respiratory Therapist Licensure (Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)).
  2. Education: Graduate of an AMAapproved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  3. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within 6 months of hire.

NicetoHaves:

  1. Additional Certification: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
  2. Experience: Three or more years of previous experience in all aspects of respiratory care preferred.
  3. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in the use of respiratory therapy equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a highpressure environment.
