Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MTMicrobiology Lead to oversee our microbiology laboratory operations in Paris TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both medical technology and microbiology with a strong background in laboratory management. This leadership role requires a detailoriented individual who is committed to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory practice and ensuring accurate and timely test results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the daily operations of the microbiology laboratory ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all testing procedures.
• Perform complex microbiological testing and analysis including culture identification and susceptibility testing of microorganisms.
• Oversee quality control procedures and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Train and mentor laboratory staff providing guidance on technical procedures and best practices.
• Develop implement and monitor laboratory protocols and procedures to ensure consistent and reliable test results.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment ensuring that all instruments are properly calibrated and functioning.
• Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide diagnostic information.
• Manage laboratory inventory including ordering supplies and maintaining adequate stock levels.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advances in microbiology and laboratory technology.

MustHaves:

1. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology Chemistry Biology Microbiology or Physical Sciences.
2. Certification: MT (ASCP) or equivalent national certification as a Medical Technologist.
3. Experience: A minimum of five years of experience as a Medical Technologist with at least five years of experience specifically in microbiology.

Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in microbiological testing including bacteriology virology mycology and parasitology.
• Indepth knowledge of laboratory quality control safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage and develop a team of laboratory professionals.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and related software.
