Job Description

Job Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join their team in Buffalo NY. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in safety management particularly within the construction or manufacturing industry. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage safety programs ensure regulatory compliance and promote a positive safety culture.

Required Skills:
  • 7 years of safety experience including 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor s degree in safety or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Broad and detailed knowledge of regulatory training inspection and auditing processes.
  • Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is required.
  • Basic knowledge of compliance relating to DOT MSHA and other federal regulations is preferred.
  • Strong time management organizational and priority management skills.
  • Ability to professionally manage a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and conducts oneself in alignment with the organization s core values.
  • Strong communication skills capable of presenting information to senior leaders and customers.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed during periods of shutdown or peak activity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture through behaviors and actions.
  • Review and update written safety programs conduct audits and investigate accidents.
  • Track incident metrics and trends applying findings to improve safety practices.
  • Manage worker s compensation incidents confidentially meeting the needs of both employees and the company.
  • Communicate and collaborate with business partners regulatory agencies and employees regarding safety requirements and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards.
  • Communicate issues trends regulatory updates and training materials to employees leadership and direct reports.
  • Responsible for the development and performance management of direct reports.
