Job Description

Overview:

As an Ophthalmologist for outpatient department (OPD) you will play a crucial role in providing specialized eye care services to patients. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and treating a variety of eye conditions including but not limited to cataracts glaucoma and refractive errors. Your contribution will directly impact the vision and overall wellbeing of our patients ensuring they receive topquality care and attention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases.
  • Prescribing and administering appropriate treatments medications and surgeries for eye conditions.
  • Performing specialized procedures such as laser eye surgery and cataract removal.
  • Collaborating with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
  • Utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment to assess and monitor eye health.
  • Advising patients on proper eye care techniques and preventive measures.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment plans.
  • Keeping accurate and detailed patient records and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Staying updated with the latest advancements and best practices in ophthalmology.
  • Providing education and training to medical students and residents.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency training in ophthalmology.
  • Board certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions.
  • Proficiency in performing eye surgeries and laser procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced clinical environment.
  • Adherence to ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring medical students or residents is desirable.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems and health information technology.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Willingness to participate in oncall duties as needed.
  • Capability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals for holistic patient care.
