Overview:
The role of a Nepali language expert is crucial for our organization to effectively communicate and engage with Nepalispeaking communities. The expert will be responsible for providing accurate translation and interpretation as well as cultural guidance to ensure seamless communication and understanding. They will play a key role in supporting various departments by providing language expertise and ensuring cultural sensitivity in our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate translation of documents audio and visual materials from Nepali to the target language and vice versa
- Conduct interpreting services during meetings conferences and events
- Ensure cultural appropriateness and sensitivity in all translations and interpretations
- Assist in the development of language training materials
- Conduct language training and workshops for staff members
- Research and stay updated on linguistic and cultural developments in the Nepalispeaking community
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent language and cultural standards
- Assist in localization of content for Nepalispeaking audiences
- Provide guidance on cultural norms customs and etiquette for effective communication
- Support in communication with Nepalispeaking stakeholders and partners
- Participate in languagerelated projects and initiatives
- Contribute to maintaining language databases and glossaries
- Assist in evaluating the quality of language services and provide improvement suggestions
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in language services
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality standards in handling sensitive information
Required Qualifications:
- Native or nearnative fluency in Nepali
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Nepali language linguistics translation or a related field
- Proven experience in translation and interpretation preferably in a professional setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Nepali and the target language
- Strong cultural understanding and sensitivity
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in using translation and localization tools and software
- Certification in language proficiency and translation is advantageous
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
- Experience in language teaching or curriculum development is a plus
- Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams
- Attention to detail and accuracy in linguistic tasks
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow in the role
- Understanding of confidentiality and privacy standards in language services
