Job Description
Nurses are the backbone of the medical field providing critical care to patients in hospitals clinics and other healthcare settings. Their responsibilities can be summarized into three main areas: direct patient care collaboration and communication.
Direct Patient Care
- Assessing patients needs: Nurses take patients vital signs monitor their conditions and perform diagnostic tests to identify their needs and develop care plans.
- Providing care: Nurses administer medications perform wound care assist with daily living activities and educate patients on their conditions and treatments.
- Monitoring progress: Nurses track patients responses to treatment and report any changes to doctors.
Collaboration
- Working with doctors: Nurses collaborate with doctors to develop and implement care plans ensuring continuity of care.
- Teamwork: Nurses work alongside other healthcare professionals such as therapists and social workers to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Communication

- Documentation: Nurses meticulously document all patient care activities in medical records.
Additionally nurses:
- Must possess strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills to make quick decisions in fastpaced environments.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy to provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient care delivery.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infections.
