We are hiring for our client Alt Carbon.
About Us:
We are a CO removal (Carbon Dioxide Removal) company based in India dedicated to turning climate challenges into opportunities for action. Our mission is to transform Darjeeling s struggling tea industry vulnerable to the impacts of climate change into a beacon of sustainability. By harnessing the power of natural processes specifically through accelerated rock weathering we remove CO from the atmosphere and pave the way for a greener more resilient future. We are a for profit organization and are backed by some of Indias most renowned founders and investors. Our efforts have already led to removal of 1003 kgs of CO from the atmosphere and we aim to remove 5 million tons of CO by 2030. We aim to scale up enhanced rock weathering (ERW) within South Asia while mobilizing climate finance and creating cobenefits for atrisk communities and ecosystems. About the Role:
We are looking for a qualified and motivated individual to join our Finance team as a Finance & Admin Associate. You will be reporting directly to our Founder and CEO Shrey Agarwal. This role is not just about crunching numbers; its about being a strategic partner who ensures everything from tax compliance to vendor payments is handled with precision and flair. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax filing financial management audit coordination and administrative support. They should be comfortable working in a fastpaced startup environment based out of Kolkata West Bengal and possess the ability to adapt to evolving business needs.
What You ll Be Doing:
Tax Jedi: Be the goto person for everything taxrelated. File taxes like a pro and ensure were always on top of GST and other statutory requirements. Keep your finger on the pulse of tax law changes and make sure were always compliant.
Money Maestro: Handle employee reimbursements vendor payments and keep our financial records spotless. Dive into the numbers with monthly statements MIS and P&L reports. Support the team with financial insights that help us grow smarter and faster.
Audit Whisperer: Work with external auditors to make sure were auditready and in the clear. Ensure that any audit recommendations are followed to the letter.
Admin Dynamo: Keep our operations smooth by handling travel bookings managing expenses and taking care of the little things that keep the wheels turning. Be the support system the team relies on for seamless daily operations.
Who You Are:
Tax & Finance Aficionado: Youve got 23 years of experience in finance or admin roles with a knack for tax laws GST and compliance.
TechSavvy: Proficient in accounting software and Excel with a sharp eye for detail and a love for numbers.
Startup Enthusiast: You re comfortable in a fastpaced environment where change is the only constant.
Reliable DecisionMaker: You can handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and work independently with confidence.
Great Communicator: You re great with words can navigate conversations with auditors vendors and team members alike and can communicate effectively to keep everyone on the same page.
Entrepreneurial Spirit: You don t just think outside the box you reinvent it. You re proactive innovative and eager to bring ideas to life.
Comfortable with Ambiguity: Uncertainty doesn t faze you. In fact it s where you do your best work using creativity to navigate the unknown.
