The Role
Somerset County Cricket ClubsTier One Womens status brings a new excitingopportunity fora Womens Assistant Coach and Batting Lead to join our professional cricket department.
The roles main purpose is toenhance the batting skills of both Senior and Academy players within the Somerset County Cricket Club womens cricket programme. This role is crucial for maintaining high performance and competitiveness ensuring that players are wellprepared for domestic competitions and first XI selection. The Womens Assistant Coach and Batting Lead will collaborate closely with professional and pathway staff to ensure a cohesive development strategy that aligns with the Somerset framework. Alongside this the roleprovides support and coaching assistance as required by the Director of Cricket Womens Head Coach & Director of Talent & Development.
To give you a snapshot of what this role involves youwill be providing allyear round high quality batting coaching and supportdeliveringelite 11 coaching sessions and assistingwith preparing developing and supporting the needs of the professional squad. Youll provide support in developing and implementing longterm strategy oversee the batting talent pool monitor and reviewplayer development and performanceand contribute to the talent identification process.
Amongst other essential criteria youll need to have a minimum ECBLevel 3 or international equivalent coaching qualification and a proven track recordofdeveloping and supportingbatting talent at bothjunior and senior levels within an elite sporting environment. You have excellent organisationcommunication and relationship building skills alongsidethe ability to motivate and influence players coaches and teams.
