Network Security Engineer

Job Summary:
The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing implementing and managing network security measures to protect our IT infrastructure. This includes monitoring network traffic identifying vulnerabilities responding to security incidents and ensuring compliance with security policies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network security a deep understanding of security protocols and a proactive approach to threat prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Design and Implementation: Design implement and manage network security solutions including firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) VPNs and secure access controls.
• Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity analyze security breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Incident Response: Lead the response to network security incidents including investigation containment eradication and recovery efforts.
• Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Security Policy Enforcement: Ensure compliance with internal security policies and industry standards such as ISO 27001 NIST and GDPR.
• Firewall Management: Configure manage and update firewall rules and policies to safeguard network boundaries.
• Access Control: Implement and manage secure access controls including multifactor authentication (MFA) and rolebased access control (RBAC).
• Threat Intelligence: Stay updated on the latest security threats and trends and implement proactive measures to mitigate potential risks.
• Security Audits: Support internal and external audits by providing detailed documentation and ensuring compliance with security requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all network and system configurations.
• Training: Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders to foster a culture of security.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3 years of experience in network security engineering or a related field.
• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications: Industryrecognized certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security are highly desirable.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in network security technologies including firewalls IDS/IPS VPNs and SIEM solutions.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP DNS HTTP/HTTPS and other network protocols.
  • Experience with security tools such as Wireshark Snort Metasploit and Nessus.
  • Knowledge of encryption protocols such as SSL/TLS IPSec and VPNs.
• ProblemSolving: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness in security measures.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
