Handle all phases of litigation involving public entities including case strategy discovery pretrial motions trials and appeals.
Conduct thorough legal research on relevant case law statutes and regulations affecting public entities.
Prepare and draft legal documents including pleadings motions briefs and settlement agreements.
Represent public entities in court proceedings including hearings trials and appellate arguments.
Prepare and present oral arguments in support of the public entitys position.
Negotiate settlements on behalf of public entities balancing legal risks with public interest considerations.
Draft and review settlement agreements to ensure legal sufficiency and alignment with public entity goals.
Collaborate with outside counsel when necessary ensuring that legal strategies are consistent with the public entitys objectives.
Manage and oversee outside counsel to ensure effective and efficient handling of litigation.
Advise public entities on compliance with federal state and local laws and regulations.
Requirements:
Candidate must be licensed to practice in CA and good standing
Candidate must be living in California
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
4 6 yearsof Public Entity litigation
Experience representing public agencies in these types of matters is a plus.

The salary within that range will depend on the selected candidates years of practice and experience.
