POSITION SUMMARY

The APE Teacher will provide specialized physical education instruction to students with disabilities at Charters Choice Educational Services. They will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to address each students unique needs and promote their physical development motor skills and overall health.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities in collaboration with teachers parents and other professionals.
• Provide specialized physical education instruction adapting activities and equipment to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Assess students physical abilities and progress to inform instruction and goal setting.
• Promote students physical fitness motor skills and overall health.
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support students academic and social development.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in physical education adapted to physical education or a related field
• California Specialized Teacher Credential in Adapted Physical Education (or equivalent)
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of physical education and adapted physical education principles
• Ability to adapt activities and equipment to meet the needs of students with disabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for helping students reach their full potential
