Elementary Guest Arts Lesson Provider

Guest Arts Lesson Teacher (professional teaching artist) for grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. About 3 Days of teaching per month and about 6 hours of preparatory/meeting time for that month is included in the contract. This is an independent contract position. The contract is with the Coronado Unified School District. This position does not require a teaching credential. Classrooms during these guest arts lessons will have a certificated substitute teacher in the room to support instructional supplies and student behavior management. The contractor is required to complete the CUSD clearance process to be hired as an independent contractor. CUSD will pay for fingerprints and medical appointments as required to be cleared to be in a CUSD classroom. If instructional supplies are needed supplies will be purchased and provided by CUSD (once agreed upon in partnership with the Director of Special Programs). The day will be split into 2 lessons/classroom per day about 2 hours per lesson. Lessons may be from any art form and should have a variety of experiences during the 2 hour lesson (hands one movement discussion writing etc.) and should be ageappropriate. Will be required to attend one group Zoom meeting per month to coplan content. This meeting will be facilitated by the Director of Special Programs.

Requirements:

Professional education and experience in an art form.

Preferred:

Experience preparing curriculum/lessons and working with groups of elementaryaged students.

Independent Contract:

2 to 4 Days a month about 8 months

Contract salary/payment: Example of contract for an artist assigned to 3 days of teaching per month: 6 hours of paid time with 45 min. to 1hour lunch x 3 days plus 6 hours of prep (2 hours a prep per day of lessons). Requested supplies once approved will be purchased by the school.

Hours: 8 AM to 3 PM

1. Paper screening of cover letter resume and a minimum of 2 letters of recommendation submitted via School Gig
2. Zoom screening interview
3. Finalists meet with the Principal and Director of Special Programs for final approval
