Job Description

We are looking for Associate Product Manager who bring a strong background in product management with skills in market and product research, data analysis, inventory management, and business development. You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of internal operational efficiency and for delivering superior service to our customers – internally and externally. This position will work closely with marketing, product management, sales to drive growth in new and adjacent products. You will drive a variety of functions under the product management department, including product development, supply chain, sales, and marketing. This position will be responsible for driving the levers of value including pricing, product proposition and differentiation, costing. The workstreams will include product research, market analysis, global sourcing and purchasing, sales forecasting and inventory planning, cost and pricing analysis, and more. This position will interface directly with 3rd party manufacturers, customers, as well as our teams in sourcing, logistics, customer service, and sales.

Experience in food, chemical, ingredient industry with a manufacturing company
4 days onsite in Great Neck, NY, US
Possible stipend around $5,000 for relocation.

Wego is family owned and operated, with 3 members of ownership across 2 generations actively serving in leadership as CEO, COO, and CCO.

Responsibilities
  • Being the first point of contact for any product related inquiries
  • Being the go-to person for product proposition, pricing, costing, profitability, sourcing etc.
  • Communication to global sales force of supply chain checkpoints and hiccups
  • Forecast, plan, and manage global inventory levels at a SKU-warehouse level to ensure customer needs are met and inventory risks are mitigated
  • Identify, contact, and vet appropriate vendors for new product sourcing
  • Conduct market research and identify competitive information and new client opportunities
  • Partner with our sales reps, marketing and global product managers on identifying new business opportunities in our clients and prospects
  • Developing go to market strategy for product line and implementing across all geographies
  • Monitor and optimize cost and pricing through ongoing analysis of costs and market dynamics, and making recommendations to senior product managers and outside sales teams
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding order discrepancies, shipment shortages, and other transactional errors
  • Contribute new ideas to leadership team that foster overall company success

Key Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills and comfortable with forecasting over various time periods and identifying variances in data
  • Experience using public data sources to identify global suppliers and study market trends
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence our internal and external stakeholders - suppliers, managers, and intra-company departments with both excellent written and verbal skills
  • High energy, go-getter, proactive, and highly organized with an ability to manage and complete multiple tasks on time
  • A commitment to going above and beyond to make clients happy with a "no task too small" outlook
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Supply chain or product management background preferred
  • Experience in chemicals or ingredient related industries preferred.

Client's benefits
All of our benefits and payroll are handled through, Insperity, our PEO Services provider. You will become eligible for benefits immediately following your date of hire. Your PTO will begin accruing at 15 days per year. o The benefits offered include Health (United Health Care), Dental (United Health Care), Vision (VSP), Life, AD&D, FSA, HSA and other voluntary benefits. o Wego shares the cost of the Health and Dental coverage with the employee. There are 4 health plans and 1 dental/vision plan to choose from, with varying premiums/deductibles based on the type of coverage selected (e.g., Employee, Employee & Spouse, Employee & Child or Family). o Health care premiums, as well as HSA/FSA contributions, are deducted on a pre-tax basis. o Wego provides a $50,000 Term Life Insurance policy and AD&D plans at no cost to employees. o All other benefit plans are provided at employees’ cost on an after-tax basis. o A 401(k) plan is available on the first day of the month after beginning employment with an auto-enroll at 2% of earnings that you can change or opt out of. The company will match 100% of employee’s contribution to the 401(k) plan up to a maximum of $1000 per year per employee.
