Oil Spill Specialist

• Advise on special tools and techniques for oil spill response in consultation with the Oil Spill Response Contracts Manager
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of oil spill characterization and categories as per KIPIC OSRP
• Conduct oil spill response training for KIPIC personnel upon request
• Assess oil spill quantities and develop strategies to contain spills with minimal environmental impact
• Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and government requirements related to contract staff and work execution
• Prepare Incident Reports and Activity Charts for oil spill response activities
• Maintain detailed records for all oil spills
• Participate in HSE Committee Meetings
• Stay up-to-date with the latest oil spill response techniques
• Demonstrate basic swimming skills for shoreline work
  

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold an Engineering Degree or a postgraduate degree in Environmental Engineering from a recognized University approved by Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE). Environmental subjects in the engineering curriculum are advantageous
• Possess eight years of experience, including at least 5 years in Oil Spill Response & Combating and 3 years in environmental-related work
• Hold an IMO Level 2 Oil Spill Response Course Training Certificate
• Possess a Train the Trainer Certificate from an internationally recognized training institute (advantageous)
• Utilize equipment and tools effectively
