- Advise on special tools and techniques for oil spill response in consultation with the Oil Spill Response Contracts Manager
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of oil spill characterization and categories as per KIPIC OSRP
- Conduct oil spill response training for KIPIC personnel upon request
- Assess oil spill quantities and develop strategies to contain spills with minimal environmental impact
- Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and government requirements related to contract staff and work execution
- Prepare Incident Reports and Activity Charts for oil spill response activities
- Maintain detailed records for all oil spills
- Participate in HSE Committee Meetings
- Stay up-to-date with the latest oil spill response techniques
- Demonstrate basic swimming skills for shoreline work
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold an Engineering Degree or a postgraduate degree in Environmental Engineering from a recognized University approved by Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE). Environmental subjects in the engineering curriculum are advantageous
- Possess eight years of experience, including at least 5 years in Oil Spill Response & Combating and 3 years in environmental-related work
- Hold an IMO Level 2 Oil Spill Response Course Training Certificate
- Possess a Train the Trainer Certificate from an internationally recognized training institute (advantageous)
- Utilize equipment and tools effectively
