Job Summary
We are seeking a Downstream Strategist to join the Fuels Strategy & Capital Planning Department. This department is responsible for developing the strategy of the Fuels Business Unit (BU) managing capital identifying portfolio synergies and optimization opportunities and conducting financial management activities.
As a Downstream Strategist your primary role will be to serve as the subject matter expert in Downstream strategy and scenario planning. You will act as the BU Advisor for Downstream businessrelated issues providing independent research on a wide range of topics that explore longterm scenarios impacting the BUs competitive advantage.
Additionally you will prepare research special studies and analyses as required for the Strategic Council and other Corporate Committees. This role requires a deep understanding of Downstream operations and the ability to contribute strategic insights that align with corporate objectives and enhance business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as subject matter expert in Downstream strategy and scenario planning.
- Prepare research special studies and market analysis as required for the Downstream Strategy Council and other Corporate and Downstream Committees. These reports and market analysis will feed into the development of scenarios.
- Collaborate in a group of strategists responsible for articulating the overall Fuels BU strategy as well as the formulation of outlook scenarios.
- Collaborate in a group of strategists and planners responsible for the development of the Fuels BU longterm strategic plans including capital/resource allocation plans.
- Build a strong relationship with think tanks and industry experts to stay updated on key developments in the Downstream business globally as well as other arenas impacting This Companys Downstream competitive performance. This includes developments in technology geopolitics regulations Saudi governments plans and the Downstream industry in general.
- Independently initiate research on wideranging topics that explore longterm scenarios potentially impacting the Companys competitive advantage in the Downstream business.
Requirements:
- Willingness to relocate to Dhahran Saudi Arabia.
- Hold a Bachelors degree in Engineering Economics Business Administration Accounting Financial Management or closely related specialty. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Have 15 years of experience in a combination of refining chemicals trading and retail marketing business with at least 5 years in strategy formulation scenario planning and/or strategic planning.
