About Us:
We are seeking a detailoriented Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. This role is vital for supporting our accounting operations ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and maintaining organized financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system including invoices receipts payments and payroll data.
- Accounts Payable: Assist in processing vendor invoices and payments ensuring timely and accurate recording of expenses in the accounting system.
- Accounts Receivable: Support the accounts receivable process by generating invoices tracking payments and following up on outstanding accounts.
- Reconciliation: Assist in monthly reconciliation of bank statements accounts payable and accounts receivable resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and uptodate financial records including electronic files and physical documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare and assist in generating financial reports summaries and schedules for management review.
- Communication: Respond to inquiries from vendors clients and internal teams regarding invoices payments and other accounting matters.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments including project management and procurement to support accurate financial tracking of construction projects.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance department including filing scanning and organizing documents.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role preferably in the construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks Sage or similar and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with construction accounting software is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping and data entry.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with team members and external contacts.
- ProblemSolving: Basic analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of construction accounting practices and job costing principles.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to the construction industry.
