Job Description

Adelphi is seeking medical assistants to provide care to patients at a correctional facility in Henrico Virginia. The ideal candidates will work in collaboration with the treatment team responsible for providing comprehensive substance use disorder services to the inmate population.

Requirements:

Current and valid Medical Assistant Certification

Responsibilities:

Assist the team providing substance use disorder services to inmates.

Verify outside prescriptions and treatments.

Provide assistance with lab work.

Ordering of medication.

Provide assistance as needed to the nurse practitioner physician assistant or medical doctor in charge.

Collaborate efficiently with other staff and members of the treatment team.

Work effectively within a correctional setting demonstrating professionalism and adherence to facility protocols.

Perform other duties as assigned.
