General Manager - Strategic Supply Chain Planning 4 months

Our client a major entity in the South African aviation sector responsible for the management and operation of the countrys primary airports is seeking a dynamic General Manager to bring supply chain strategic planning efforts. In this role you will be instrumental in shaping the future directions of their supply chain by aligning their business and organisational goals with a comprehensive and effective functional strategy.

• Drive a focus on supply chain strategic planning through influencing and facilitating the development of future strategic directions
  
• Translate business and organisational goals into a comprehensive functional strategy.
  
• Ensure strategic alignment with the goals of those business areas serviced by SCM.
  
• Develop and lead an effective demand planning capability which supports forecasting budgeting and integrated business planning.
  
• Manage and enhance the strategic partnership model to business and encourage business collaboration in demand planning and category management.
  
• Embed a category management approach to procurement with a focus on supplier market analysis contracts management and supplier performance management per category.
  
• Drive the identification and realisation of cost reduction and cost saving opportunities through effective category management.
  
• Executive the implementation of supply chain strategies.
  
• Follow the established SCM policies governance structures frameworks and processes.
  
• Manage risk and drive compliance with SCM policies procedures standards SLAs and relevant legislation.
  
• Drive tactical procurement and the purchasing process for strategic sourcing as per implemented contracts according to best practice
  
• Manage risk exposure through identification implementation and maintenance of risk control measures to minimise the Company s liability
  

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Logistics or a related field.
  
• Experience in supply chain management with a focus on strategic planning demand planning and category management.
  
• Proven track record in a senior management role demonstrating strong leadership and strategic oversight.
  
• Experience in the aviation or transportation sector is highly advantageous.
