This is a fulltime position based in Auckland or Christchurch New Zealand

What are the main responsibilities for this role

• Collaborate with the team to develop and enhance the backend and infrastructure of our online high school platform.
• Build utilise and integrate cloud services to deliver a worldclass online learning environment.
• Follow best practices participate in code reviews and help maintain and improve code quality.
• Work closely with crossfunctional teams to understand and meet project requirements.
• Discover and explorenew technologies and integrate them into our platforms.
• Mentor junior team members and take on technical lead roles.
  
• Show interest in learning and contributing to our frontend applications.
  
• Diagnose and resolve issues.

What skills and experience are required

• 5 years of experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in Node TypeScript Postgres SQL.
• Ideally experience with tools such as Express/Koa ORMs (Prisma/Knex).
• Strong understanding of cloud services (AWS/Terraform) APIs (REST GraphQL) integration and infrastructure.
• Enthusiasm for learning and exploring our frontend (React/Typescript) is a plus.
• Excellent problemsolving and debugging skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• A deep passion for education and a commitment to elevating the online learning experience.
