ABOUT YOUR ROLE

Descartes Underwriting is seeking a Reinsurance Analyst to join our Reinsurance
Team. You will report to the Reinsurance Lead.
The applicant will be in close and effective cooperation with all business units and
play a vital role in the following activities.

Your tasks will include :

• Support the reinsurance placement contact for our treaty and reinsuranceprograms (traditional and alternative) for Descartes Insurance and DescartesUnderwriting partners;
• Participate to the elaboration of our reinsurance strategy to support ourgrowth which includes:
  • Active follow up of UW strategy and new products expansion in order toadapt our existing and new reinsurance treaties
  • Analysis of terms and conditions in collaboration with the Risk Management Finance and UW
• Support the implementation of the strategy and execute the placement of renewals and new treaties with reinsurers and brokers;
• Perform controls to ensure the robustness of our reinsurance processes;
• Work autonomously and pragmatically to make appropriate technical decisions;
• Take ownership of individual placements with the time.

ABOUT YOU

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in reinsurance (preferred) and/or insurance is required;
• From 2 to 5 years experience after graduation;
• Graduated from a Business or Engineering school.
  

SKILLS

• General understanding of insurance concepts is valued (Accounting LegalUnderwriting Pricing models);
• Rigorous team spirit creative and meticulous mind;
• Analytical and financial skills;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Fluency in English and French is required (written and verbal).
