Accountant

Description

These persons will form part of our production personnel. What that entails are that they will be responsible for a variety of clients and services as part of our billable fees to clients. (As confirmation Our main business is accounting tax and advisory work.)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable accounts receivable and payroll.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Perform monthend closing processes and ensure timely completion of financial reporting.
• Provide analysis and interpretation of financial data to assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Mentor and train junior accounting staff as required.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; additional certifications such as PA(SA) and CA(SA) are preferred.
• 37 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management.
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards (SAGAAP) and taxation laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
• Attention to detail with strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Membership in SAICA SAIPA or a related field is advantageous.
