Position Overview
Capitol Bridge is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to lead our Payroll team within our corporate enterprise. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the full cycle of payroll processing and management, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency in all payroll-related activities. The ideal candidate will be adept at process creation and documentation, payroll systems implementation, and effective people management.
*Strong preference for candidates located in EST or CST time zones, as work aligns closely with EST business hours*
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Full Cycle Payroll Processing for multiple entities on a timely basis.
- Manage payroll staff on day-to-day basis.
- Create and document policies, procedures and SOPs for payroll.
- Familiarity with different state and local tax laws and their application in payroll.
- Provide reports and audit support as needed regarding payroll.
- Implement and maintain payroll system configuration as needed
- Prepare and file tax registrations, tax filings, and tax amendments as it pertains to payroll.
- Respond to wage garnishments and support orders in a timely manner.
- Process 401k deferrals and deductions as needed
- Ad hoc projects as needed in support of payroll
Qualifications
- 5+ years of payroll experience
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Expertise in payroll law required
- People management experience required
- SCA experience preferred
- SHRM certification preferred
- HR experience preferred
