Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our finance team. In this role you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounting process including maintaining financial records preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Management:

    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
    • Record financial transactions including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and bank reconciliations.
    • Prepare and post journal entries and ensure timely and accurate monthend and yearend closings.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and present monthly financial statements including profit and loss statements balance sheets and cash flow statements.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends variances and opportunities for improvement.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts providing insights based on financial performance.
  • Accounts Management:

    • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes ensuring timely invoicing and collection of payments.
    • Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management activities to optimize liquidity.
    • Liaise with vendors clients and financial institutions to resolve any discrepancies or inquiries.
  • Compliance & Auditing:

    • Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
    • Assist in the preparation for audits providing necessary documentation and support to external auditors.
    • Maintain organized records of financial transactions and documentation for easy access and review.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify and implement improvements to bookkeeping processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Stay current with accounting software and tools providing recommendations for upgrades or changes as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field preferred but not required.
    • Minimum of 35 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word).
    • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles including GAAP.
    • Experience with payroll processing and tax filings is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities with the capacity to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
    • Effective communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
