Group Accounting Director

Work location: Berlin / DE (Hybrid)

The Accounting Director will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions across all our international entities (Germany Poland UK China). This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record of managing diverse accounting teams in different markets. The successful candidate will have expertise in consolidation tax regulations pertinent to ecommerce IFRS and implementing robust accounting processes and systems. The Accounting Director will report directly to the CFO and will play a key role in shaping the financial infrastructure to support our growing business.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Financial Consolidation:
  • Set up the process and later on oversee the consolidation of financial statements from all international entities ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with regional accounting teams to streamline and standardize reporting processes ensuring the proper accounting of transactions supporting the business
• Tax Compliance and Strategy:
  • Ensure compliance with international tax regulations and ecommerce tax laws across all regions.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the companys financial position and help to scale the business.
• Process and System Implementation:
  • Introduce and oversee the implementation of accounting systems and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures that enhance internal controls and support business objectives.
• Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead mentor and develop accounting teams across Germany Poland the UK and China fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency in accounting practices across all entities.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the CFO and other senior executives to support strategic decisionmaking.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis and reporting.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance financial operations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the companys accounting practices remain current and compliant.

WHAT YOU BRING IN

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing international teams
• Strong knowledge of international accounting standards tax regulations and ecommerce industry practices IFRS.
• Good knowledge of German GAAP accounting standards (HGB).
• Proven track record in managing financial consolidations for multinational entities.
• Experience in implementing accounting systems and process improvements.
• Exceptional leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
• Fluent German and English language skills Polish would be a huge asset.
