Position Overview:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA) at Affinity Health you will be instrumental in delivering personalized care services to our senior clients. Your role will encompass assisting with personal care routines providing emotional support and fostering companionship. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist seniors with personal care activities such as bathing dressing grooming and toileting.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to seniors fostering a sense of connection and wellbeing.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
  • Administer medications and assist with medication reminders as required.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the clients condition or needs to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and their families ensuring open communication and trust.
  • Adhere to all company policies procedures and safety standards while delivering care services.

Requirements

  • Health Care Aide (HCA) designation from a recognized institution.
  • Registered with the BC HCA Directory preferred
  • Current CPR / First Aid Certification / Equivalency required
  • Satisfactory proof of COVID19 vaccines
  • Immunization records and/or proof of immunity including: MMR Varicella(chicken pox) Tetanus Hep B
  • Current TB Screening
  • Current and clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
  • Previous experience working with seniors in a caregiver capacity is preferred.
  • Proficiency in personal care techniques including assisting with activities of daily living.
  • Strong judgment problemsolving and assessment abilities to address client needs effectively.
  • Honest dedicated and flexible approach to caregiver responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
  • Commitment to delivering highquality care with compassion and professionalism.
