Job Description

US Citizenship Required Remote 5 Yrs Sep/Oct Start

ACES is seeking a Software Developer to support the National Science Foundation in designing creating testing maintaining and deploying software applications. This role involves implementing enhancements to NSF Portals search functionality migrating the Weekly Wire functionality from ePublish to NSF Portal code refactoring NSF Portal and data synchronization of identity management system with NSF directory database. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Citizenship: US Citizens only
  • Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in field related to tasking with 5 Years of general experience
  • Technical: Proficiency in programming languages such as Java C Python or similar. Strong understanding of software development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall. Experience in software design including building models or diagrams to communicate design concepts. Proficiency in testing software at various phases of completion ensuring high quality and performance. Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to produce and maintain comprehensive documentation..
  • Contract Length: 5 years
  • Work Location: 100% Remote
  • Start Date: Sep 2024

OPPORTUNITY

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Software Design: Lay out software design build models or diagrams to communicate the end goal and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Application Development: Design create test maintain and deploy software applications that meet business needs and technical requirements.
  • Programming Oversight: Oversee software programming to ensure coding standards are met and best practices are followed.
  • Testing: Conduct thorough testing of software at various phases of completion to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Maintain existing software applications and map out future software upgrades to enhance functionality and performance.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for all developed software including design specifications testing plans and user manuals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other developers project managers and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve software development practices.
