Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detailoriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the overall financial health of the company. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage daytoday accounting operations including accounts payable accounts receivable general ledger maintenance and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare review and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the monthend and yearend closing processes including preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow including forecasting and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and internal controls.
  • Support external audits by preparing audit schedules financial reports and other required documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Assist with special projects process improvements and the implementation of new accounting systems or procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • 35 years of experience in an accounting role preferably within the agriculture or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles standards and regulations (GAAP IFRS etc.).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • High level of integrity with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cost accounting or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPA or CMA certification (or working towards certification) is a plus.
