Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detailoriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the overall financial health of the company. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daytoday accounting operations including accounts payable accounts receivable general ledger maintenance and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare review and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with the monthend and yearend closing processes including preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Monitor and manage cash flow including forecasting and budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and internal controls.
- Support external audits by preparing audit schedules financial reports and other required documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
- Assist with special projects process improvements and the implementation of new accounting systems or procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- 35 years of experience in an accounting role preferably within the agriculture or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles standards and regulations (GAAP IFRS etc.).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- High level of integrity with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cost accounting or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
- CPA or CMA certification (or working towards certification) is a plus.
