Assistant Controller

An Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing the accounting operations of the organization ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls. This role involves overseeing the accounting team assisting with the preparation of financial statements and coordinating the monthend and yearend close processes. The Assistant Controller also helps with budgeting forecasting and audit preparations while driving process improvements within the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Manage the monthend and yearend close processes including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities providing financial insights to management.
• Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5 years of accounting experience with a focus on financial reporting and internal controls.
• Strong understanding of GAAP advanced proficiency in accounting software and excellent analytical skills.
• Leadership and communication abilities with a track record of process improvement.
