Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Assistant Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Leeds. This role involves assisting with the installation maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment on various projects ensuring that all work meets the high standards of quality and safety that Lionsgate Contractors is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Maintenance: Assist in the installation maintenance and repair of mechanical systems including ducting drainage systems and concrete finishing.
- Tool Use: Proficient use of hand and power tools for drilling cutting and assembling components.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings schematics and work instructions accurately.
- Inspections: Conduct routine inspections and testing of mechanical systems to ensure proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Support Senior Fitters: Provide support to senior mechanical fitters in the execution of their duties ensuring efficient and timely project completion.
- Documentation: Document and report any issues or nonconformances to senior fitters or supervisors.

Job Requirements:
- Experience: Relevant experience in mechanical fitting or a similar role particularly in infrastructure projects.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Technical Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Safety Focus: Strong commitment to safety and quality in all tasks.
- Communication: Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Education: Relevant qualifications such as an apprenticeship or technical certification in mechanical engineering or a related field are advantageous.
