Job Description

Role: M&A Analyst

Industry: Mergers & Acquisitions

Location: Atlanta GA 30339

Remote or Hybrid Options: OnSite

Hourly Range: $20 $25

Type: PartTime NonExempt

Overview:

Our client is seeking a parttime Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst to join their dynamic and growing firm. M&A analysts play an integral fulltime inoffice role in the firms M&A and corporate finance advisory activities. Prior work experience in boutique investment banking or related industries such as commercial lending corporate finance and planning or public accounting is preferable.

M&A analysts are expected to be active contributors during every phase of the deal process and are encouraged to handle a high level of responsibility on transaction teams leading the writing and development of both the initial pitch material and postclient descriptive M&A memorandums. They are also responsible for the preparation and integrity of the valuation analyses and merger and acquisition models.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in finance accounting economics or related field. An MBA is preferred.
  • Strong academic background in accounting finance economics general business or a related field.
  • Prior business experience or significant internships in an analyst role are preferred.
  • Have strong knowledge of the principles of finance accounting and economics or other related studies.
  • Possess advanced proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Have excellent written communication skills and analytical abilities.
  • Be an independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed.
  • Have a very strong work ethic possess superior organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Have strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering of information and performing business due diligence on prospective clients or target acquisitions.
  • Preparing normalized financial models utilizing historical and projected financial information and participating in the analysis of variances and fluctuations explaining major changes and identifying key value drivers.
  • Conducting valuation analysis of private companies and business units including precedent transaction and comparable guideline public company methods Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Leveraged Buy Out (LBO) analyses and approaches to valuation.
  • Preparing analyzing and explaining historical and projected financial information including modeling analysis.
  • Research and development of target buyer lists utilizing various databases to create target marketing campaigns that match with sellside client buyer criteria.
  • Preparation of quarterly M&A update reports and white papers that are distributed to mailing lists.
