Nuclear Medicine Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Performs Nuclear Medicine exams and delivers completed exams to Radiologist for interpretation. Complies with state and federal regulations concerning Radioactive Materials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: An individual who has completed a program in nuclear medicine.

Experience: Previous Nuclear Medicine technologist experience preferred. New graduates will be considered.

Knowledge and Skills: Communicate well with patients and other departments. Knowledge of current State and Federal regulations for Radioactive Materials.

License/Certifications: Must hold and maintain (via required continuing education credits) current certification from the ARRT and/or NMTCB CRT (Nuclear) and a current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card.

Equipment: Basic knowledge of equipment used in Nuclear Medicine such as a Gamma Camera Dose Calibrator Survey Meter and other equipment as used in the department. RIS HIS and PACS.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
