Senior Components Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Schedule: MF 85 or 96 with 8 hour days with flexibility (up to 1 hour nonbillable lunch)

This will be mostly remote with some potential days onsite depending on ability and business needs

In this role the Component Engineer (Contract role) will be supporting assigned tasks related to managing electronic component selection and maintenance of part library working with broader component engineering team responsible for of various hardware designs for current and next generation of electric vehicles.

This is what you ll do:

Responsible for Arena Parts library maintenance from component engineering point of view.

Support component engineering team to implement multisourcing in our design manufacturing flows and drive part life cycle maintenance.

Partner with Purchasing and Program Management teams to make sure there is alignment between part availability cost and planned build dates for HW

Support design engineering in the selection of electronic components for their applications

Generate Internal Part Numbers for new part requests for new designs in the Arena PLM database.

Scrub Bill of Materials (BoM) to ensure compliance to application requirements (AECQ Electrical/Mechanical Temperature grade)

Manage the supply chain lifecycle for electronic components (EOL/LTB PCNs etc.)

Support supply chain during clear to build (CTB) reviews by identifying alternate components for known shortages

Contribute to overall process and workflow development between the cross functional teams

Report weekly status to management on progress for expected deliverables and highlight risks

this is what you ll need:

Experience in component engineering electrical engineering or related field.

Prior experience in analyzing and evaluating new or improved electronic components

Understanding of Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) and ECAD tools (Altium OrCAD) for applicable component responsibilities.

Desirable:

Knowledge of AECQ qualification process

The Material Area Supervisor is responsible for leading hourly teams that unload, store, and deliver material to support production in an automotive manufacturing assembly plant. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Lead the safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale of hourly work teams. Develop team leaders to meet corporate guidelines and transform existing material delivery processes to increase productivity and reduce manufacturing costs utilizing the World Class Manufacturing process. Ensure inventory and record integrity and maintain a positive working relationship with both management and union represented employee. Manage multiple work teams in a fast paced, high volume unionized manufacturing environment. Responsible for coordinating daily team activities to achieve business metrics and implementing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools and processes as it related to material flow. Required to oversee and develop highly functioning work teams, comprised of Team Leaders and Team Members and practice Leadership Principles.
