High School Special Education Teacher - Science

As a Special Education Teacher you will be responsible for:

• Developing and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  
• Collecting data and implementing differentiated instruction and interventions for academic and socialemotional needs
  
• Integrating technology into your teaching methods
  
• Collaborating with therapists professionals and families to support student achievement
  
• Modifying general education curriculum to meet the unique needs of students with cognitive emotional or physical disabilities
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate knowledge of second language learning patterns and best practices in English language development
  
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English language development
  
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure ELLs achieve success across content areas
  
• Administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress
  
• Serve as a liaison between the school and families
  
• Communicate effectively with teachers administration and families
  
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
  
• Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
  
• Bachelors degree in Special Education (Masters degree a plus)
  
• Eligible for an Illinois PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement
  
• Availability to work up to 37.5 hours per week
